Breast Augmentation, Breast Implants, Breast Reduction, and More in New Jersey
Breast Enhancement New Jersey procedures such as breast lift, breast reconstruction, breast augmentation with breast implants, and breast reduction offered at our New Jersey practice can dramatically enhance the appearance of the breasts.
Breast Augmentation – Breast Implants
Breast augmentation using breast implants at our New Jersey practice is performed to increase the size and alter the shape of a woman’s breasts. Women may choose to have this procedure done either to enhance the contours of the body or to balance differently sized breasts. Breast augmentation results in fuller, firmer, more symmetrical breasts to give patients their ideal bust line.
Breast implants can be placed using a number of techniques. Incisions can be made either along the underside crease of the breast, the armpit, or the perimeter of the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). The placement of the incision will vary according to body type and the individual specifics of the procedure. Dr. Rauscher enters the incision and creates a pocket either directly beneath the breast tissue or underneath the chest muscle. The breast implant is then centered directly behind the nipple to ensure natural-looking results. Finally, the original incision is carefully sutured to minimize scarring.

Breast Reduction
Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty, at Dr. Rauscher’s New Jersey practice is designed for women who are experiencing medical problems due to having uncomfortably large breasts. Large breasts can cause problems such as back and neck pain, skin irritation, skeletal deformities, and breathing problems. Although breast reduction is most commonly used to alleviate medical problems, it can also help women who feel self-conscious about the size of their breasts.
In the most common breast reduction procedure, Dr. Rauscher first makes an incision around the dark skin surrounding the nipple (areola). This incision is extended straight down and then follows the natural curve of the underside crease of the breast. Dr. Rauscher removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin, and adjusts the nipple into position. The remaining skin and tissue are drawn in around the areola, and Dr. Rauscher carefully resculpts the new breasts to be symmetrical and proportional. He then stitches the incision, always aiming for the least amount of scarring.
Dr. Rauscher’s breast reduction patients in New Jersey are often extremely pleased with the shape and size of their breasts after surgery. Patients generally experience a newfound sense of physical comfort and self-confidence after breast reduction, making the procedure especially worthwhile. Breast Lift
Over time, the natural aging process can cause a woman’s breasts to lose their natural elasticity and firmness, causing them to sag. A breast lift, or breast mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that reshapes and cosmetically enhances a woman’s breasts to reverse the effects of breast-feeding, gravity, and aging. After the procedure, women can expect their breasts to have a firmer, more youthful appearance.
In the most common form of the procedure, Dr. Rauscher makes an incision along the natural contour of the breast. Working through this incision, he sculpts excess skin and tissue and repositions the nipple to lift the breast to a more ideal position. To finish the firming and shaping, the skin is pulled in around the nipple and Dr. Rauscher carefully sutures the incisions.
Another option for patients considering breast lift is the “doughnut mastopexy.” This procedure requires less tissue removal and results in a more rapid recovery time and less scarring than traditional mastopexy. In this procedure, Dr. Rauscher makes concentric, circular incisions around the areola, and a doughnut shaped area of skin is removed. The incision is closed in one seam around the outer perimeter of the nipple, which causes the remaining surrounding tissues to relocate more centrally to the nipple. In some cases, breast implants may be used to increase volume and firmness of the breasts during the lift. Contact us today in New Jersey for more information about how breast lift can help you to regain firmer, more youthful-looking breasts.
Breast Reconstruction
For many women diagnosed with breast cancer, mastectomy, or breast removal, is an unfortunate, yet lifesaving treatment. Women who have undergone full or partial mastectomy can choose to have breast reconstruction to restore their natural bust line. This procedure recreates the size and shape of the patient’s natural breast, which can renew her sense of femininity.
Breast reconstruction can be completed using either breast implants or the patient’s own tissue. If the patient opts for reconstruction using an implant, Dr. Rauscher will use a tissue expander placed below the mastectomy site to make room for placement of the implant. Reconstruction using the patient’s own tissue can be performed by transplanting and positioning muscle tissue flaps from either the back or abdomen. Both methods yield beautiful results that restore patients’ natural curves and feminine confidence. Dr. Rauscher has had substantial experience performing breast reconstruction and is renowned for his ability to remedy cosmetic breast abnormalities.
